Students were excluded from the new regulation on public transportation prices in Bursa, which will be implemented on April 1, 2021. The student metro ride price, which was applied as 2016 TL in 1,5 in Bursa, was arranged as 5 TL again 1,5 years later. No increase was made in the price of 90 TL for the monthly student subscription card.
The Metropolitan Municipality, which continues to apply an economic price tariff in addition to modernization in public transportation vehicles in order to direct citizens to public transportation in Bursa, did not compromise on the student-friendly transportation policy in the new tariff, which will be valid as of April 1, 2021. While students who use public transportation extensively were excluded from the new tariff, the price of monthly student subscription cards, which was 90 TL, was not increased. As will be remembered, the student subway entrance price, which was 2016 TL in 1,5, was reduced to 2018 TL in 1,35. The student metro boarding schedule, which has not increased for two years, has been increased to 5 TL, which was the price of 1,5 years ago, with the new arrangement. Despite the increase in fuel, personnel and maintenance costs up to 5 percent in the last 70 years, Bursa Metropolitan Municipality continues its student-friendly transportation policy with determination.
Economic pricing policy
The new price tariff due to the increase in costs, which will be implemented on April 1, 2021, was created by taking into account especially low-income citizens and students. While the rates of increase in transportation prices were kept below the minimum wage increase rate for adults, with the new regulation, the full boarding of the metro was 3,50 TL and the discounted 3.00 TL. With the arrangement, the long line was arranged as 4,40 TL and the short line was 3,90 TL. Monthly full subscription was determined as 15 TL with an increase of 230 percent. The student subscription price was fixed at 90 TL.
