While the first TBM made an advance of 4 thousand 567 meters in the tunnel works, a 2 thousand 551 meter long tunnel was excavated with the second TBM that was commissioned later. Thus, the total tunnel length excavated with tunnel boring machines reached 7 meters. The last station was reached in the tunnel that previously unified Balçova, Çağdaş, Dokuz Eylül University Hospital, Faculty of Fine Arts, Narlıdere and Şehitlik stations.
