Manisa High Speed ​​Train Route Will Smell Lavender

A "High Speed ​​Train Lavender Forest" was created by the Izmir Regional Directorate of Forestry, Manisa Forestry Operation Directorate, at a point that sees the high-speed train route in Yağcılar District of Manisa's Yunusemre district. The first lavender saplings to the High Speed ​​Train Lavender Forest Manisa Governor Yaşar Karadeniz, Manisa Celal Bayar University Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Ataç, Manisa Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Brigadier General Selçuk Yıldırım, İzmir Regional Director of Forestry Zafer Derince, Şehzadeler District Governor Cemal Hüsnü Çaykara, Yunusemre Deputy Mayor Şaver Yüksel, Manisa Forestry Operation Manager İlker Özdemir, protocol members and Manisa Forestry Management Directorate personnel and workers.

Speaking at the ceremony, İzmir Regional Director of Forestry Zafer Derince said, “This is an area of ​​110 decares. Here, we will plant lavender in 80 decares of land. We will also plant medicinal and aromatic plants in other areas. We want to plant 3 thousand thyme, 3 thousand laurels, 3 thousand rosemary medicinal and aromatic plants. We named it Fast Train Lavender Forest. When the high-speed train passes from here, people will visually see lavenders here. In addition, in order to raise awareness to the locals, we will explain that these are an economic value, foresters planting such plants other than trees and that these areas will bring them economic gain and they should be protected ”.

Stating that the lavender forest created on the route where the high-speed train will pass through Manisa will add a visual beauty to the region, Manisa Governor Yaşar Karadeniz said:

“It is a very important project for our city. Our transportation to Istanbul has become very close, but we still have a distance from Ankara. The high-speed train will shorten this distance for our city. However, it is a project that will make travelers remember this place in their minds. The forest should not be seen as just afforestation. I know that the protection of wildlife, the production of economic value from forest areas and other forestry activities are very important in our forestry afforestation. I am sure that there are these studies here as well. I think the lavender forest that we will plant will set an example for these works. "

Following the speeches, the first lavender plantings were made and life water was given to the "High Speed ​​Train Lavender Forest", which was created by the protocol members on an area of ​​80 decares.
