Installation of the reactor of the second power unit of Belarus ngs has been completed.

Experts completed the assembly of the reactor of the second power unit of Belarus NGS to move to the cold and hot start phase. The Engineering Department of the Russian State Atomic Energy Authority Rosatom is the general designer and general contractor of the Belarusian NGS.

During the assembly process, the installation of the reactor interior parts, the loading of the fuel assembly models to the reactor, the protective tube unit and the upper unit were installed.

In the coming days, experts will begin to fill the main circuit of the power unit with chemically demineralized water. The main tests will begin before the reactor in the second power unit of the Belarus NGS is hot-started and after the necessary permits have been obtained.

Belarus NGS, which includes two VVER-2,400 reactors with a total capacity of 1200 MW, is being built in Ostrovets in the Republic of Belarus. For the first nuclear power plant Belarus had chosen a Russian III + generation project that fully complied with the International Atomic Energy Agency's (IAEA) international standards and recommendations on safety. The first power unit of Belarus NGS was the first power unit outside Russia with the latest generation III + technology built using Russian technologies.
