Following the decisions taken after the Presidential Cabinet meeting, the question of whether to start distance education again in schools came to the agenda. The Ministry of National Education made a statement on the subject. “It has been reported that the practices related to face-to-face and distance education will continue according to the decisions of the provincial sanitation committees under the coordination of the governorships in line with the previously announced criteria.

The statement made by the Ministry of National Education is as follows: In line with the criteria we have shared with the public on Monday, March 1, 2021, within the scope of the “decision-making” practice in education, face-to-face and distance education activities will continue with decisions to be taken on a provincial basis.

In this context, face-to-face education will continue throughout the country in all pre-school education institutions, primary schools, 8th and 12th grades, as previously explained.

Secondary school 5th, 6th and 7th grades and high school preparation, transition to face-to-face and distance education in 9th, 10th and 11th grades will be implemented on a provincial basis in line with the decisions of the Provincial Hygiene Board under the coordination of governorships, depending on the risk situation map.

Unless the Governorships take a different decision with the Provincial Hygiene Boards, our schools will continue their education face-to-face by preserving their current status.

Special education schools and classes serving for students with special needs will continue full-time face-to-face education throughout the country.

Current decisions will continue to be implemented in educational institutions in villages and sparsely populated settlements.

Support and Training Courses and reinforcement courses organized for 8th and 12th grades and graduates will continue, including on Saturdays and Sundays.

Exam applications in schools will continue in line with the announced schedule.

Participation in face-to-face training will be carried out with the consent of the parents.
