Aiming to facilitate the lives of the sick, elderly and disabled citizens living in the city, especially for pedestrians, the Metropolitan Municipality spends an intensive 7/24 work to carry out the maintenance and repair of escalators and elevators.
MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR WORKS ARE MADE BY METROPOLITAN TEAMS
The Mayor of the Metropolitan Municipality, Mansur Yavaş, who has spread the concept of saving-oriented service since the day he took office, sent a circular to all units for more efficient and effective use of public resources.
In line with the circular, the teams of the Department of Urban Aesthetics, Maintenance and Repair Branch, who started to carry out maintenance and repair works of escalators and elevators with their own teams, thus both save a great deal of money and can respond to breakdowns more quickly.
ELEVATORS ARE MORE SAFE
The Metropolitan Municipality carries out the maintenance, repair and operation of 418 elevators, 359 escalators, 16 disabled platforms and 8 moving bands throughout the city with its own teams.
Yunus Emre Bostancı, Elevator and Escalator Unit Chief, stated that they started to carry out maintenance and repair work with their own teams, not by outsourcing, and said, “In all the examinations made on April 1, 2019, we found that the elevators were labeled with red. We made these elevators safe with the elevator revision teams we set up in our own right and received valid and safe labels. "Our savings-oriented work and all revision works were carried out as a result of the productions made in our own workshop."
