Izmir participated in the ITB Berlin Fair, one of the world's leading tourism events. Different institutions of İzmir came together under the roof of Visit İzmir and introduced the city at the fair held digitally this year due to pandemic measures.
Izmir participated in the ITB Berlin Fair, which was held digitally for the first time between 9-12 March this year, due to pandemic measures. The fair, which brings together tourism sector representatives in March every year, was canceled last year due to the coronavirus epidemic.
For ITB 2021, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, İzmir Foundation, İzmir Chamber of Commerce, TÜRSAB, İZFAŞ, Swissotel Büyük Efes İzmir and Mövenpick Hotel İzmir, İzmir Palas Hotel came together and determined a common promotion strategy. Different institutions of İzmir took place under the new promotional face of the city, the Visit İzmir platform, and introduced the city in a common language.
The fair hosted 3 thousand 200 participants
This year ITB Berlin Fair hosted 120 exhibitors from more than 3 countries. Participants were mainly tourism organizations and associations, travel technology providers, tour operators, hotel industry and destination management companies at the fair, which was organized with the slogan "Digital Meeting for the Travel Industry".
At ITB 2021, the participants made their presentations on the internet platform offered by the fair management. In the fair, sector employees followed the panels, events, promotions and information activities organized in different parts of the world over the internet for four days.

The trial version of Visit İzmir, which was designed as a city guide with all current information about İzmir, has been published. At Visit İzmir, detailed information about innovations, places to see, accommodation and events in the city are displayed on updated maps. Visit İzmir will be available to everyone soon.
