Tohma (Martyr Gaffari Güneş) Bridge, which provides the integrity of the divided road between Malatya and Sivas provinces, was put into service on Saturday, February 6, with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in a teleconference. At the ceremony; Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu, General Manager of Highways Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, bureaucrats and representatives of the contractor firm were present.

Speaking at the ceremony, President Erdoğan said; Turkey's global execution of mega projects is a country that performs alone, more than half of all areas continuously raising the target, he said the increased capacity.

Stating that the bridge that connects the two sides of the Malatya plain is one of the lifebloods of the region's transportation, our President emphasized that the New Tohma Bridge will contribute significantly to the tourism and trade of the region.

Stating that they are closely following these kinds of investments, especially those under construction, and that they quickly compensate for deficiencies and deficiencies, Erdoğan said; He noted that a brand new bridge of 517 m, built with the most advanced technology, has been brought to the city, and thanks to the bridge, uninterrupted, comfortable, safe and high standard transportation can be provided on the divided road between Malatya, Hekimhan and Sivas.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu said that the Tohma Bridge will accelerate the development of the developing and growing Malatya and add abundance to its abundance.

Minister Karaismailoğlu stated that the bridge was built on the Malatya-Elbistan Junction-Yazihan-Hekimhan-Kangal road within the scope of the 104 km Malatya-Hekimhan Project; He stated that 2 tons of steel, 700 cubic meters of reinforced concrete and 13 tons of reinforced concrete were used for the beams of the project, which was carried out with the push-and-slide method, and 4 cubic meters of cut excavation was made in its production.

Minister Karaismailoğlu continued his speech as follows: “With this road and bridge, while providing the comfortable, safe and fast transportation need of Malatya, we also reduce traffic accidents. We work with heart and soul in accordance with the targets set out in the Road Traffic Safety Action Plan, which has been announced to the public. The Tohma Martyr Gaffari Solar Bridge we built in Malatya is also an example work for this purpose. "

With the conventional reinforced concrete piled infrastructure system and the new bridge with steel twin I beams, strategically located on the Karakaya Dam, and built by pushing and sliding method next to the old bridge, drivers will have the opportunity to travel safely.
