Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Dr. Bekir Pakdemirli said that, as of today, they will transfer the support of approximately 140 million lira to the accounts of our producers and fishermen within the scope of agricultural support payments and support for puffer fish, which is one of the leading foreign invasive species and threatens aquatic biodiversity and fishing gear.
Minister Pakdemirli's statement is as follows:
“Within the scope of the Grain-Legume-Grain Corn support, our 9.824 producers, 60.719.827 TL
Within the scope of Certified Seed Usage support, we will make a payment of 66.128 TL to 78.606.301 producers.
On the other hand, as you know, we included puffer fishing, which is one of the leading foreign invasive species, threatening aquatic biological diversity and the fishing gear of fishermen. In this context, we will pay 08 TL for the 31 puffer fish caught by our fishermen between 2020-46.192 December 2020 as part of their 230.960 support. In addition, we have started work to expand the support in this area to cover all puffer fish species in 2021.
Under these three headings, we will make a total support payment of approximately 140 million TL to our producers and fishermen today.
