TCDD Tasimacilik took an important step regarding high speed train services within the scope of "normalization" that will start on March 1. 1 March, high-speed train tickets are on sale.
The "restriction" in high-speed trains carrying passengers with a capacity of 28 percent since 2020 May 50 has ended. High speed trains will carry passengers with 100 percent capacity as in airplanes
Regulations regarding ticket sales have been made. Relevant units were informed on the subject. Prior to the epidemic, high-speed train tickets were offered for sale 15 days before the departure. During the epidemic period (considering possible cancellations and changes), tickets started to be sold 5 days before the flight. It was envisaged that this period would be re-arranged as 15 days. It is stated that the 5-day application will continue for a while.
As part of the epidemic, the number of YHT train trips was reduced. With the normalization, the number of trips is expected to increase in parallel with the increase in the demand for intercity travel. It remains uncertain when the main line and regional trains, which have not been operating for about a year, will start their voyages. However, it is estimated that the flights will start again in the coming days in parallel with the normalization steps.
