In the statement made by the Ministry; “The bridge, which has undergone extensive repairs during the Seljuk and Ottoman Periods, has 57 arches today. The bridge was repaired by Mimar Sinan during the preparations for the Baghdad campaign of Suleiman the Magnificent in the Ottoman Period (16th century). During these repairs, a prayer hall and 22 arches were added to the bridge by Mimar Sinan. It was said that the three arches of the bridge, which were destroyed by the Greeks during the War of Independence (1920), were repaired in 1922 in order to prevent transportation.

The Ministry announced that the tender for the Ancient Road and Stone Bridge Implementation Project of the Historical Kırkgöz Bridge, which was registered by the Konya Cultural Heritage Preservation Regional Board in 1988, was realized on January 29, 2021, and that the project works will begin as soon as possible.
