Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality completed the reinforcement and renovation works at the Station Viaduct, which has an important place in terms of the transportation axis of the city, which connects Yenişehir-Bağlar districts, and opened it to the service of citizens.
As a result of the performance analysis made by the technical staff, Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality Department of Science Affairs carried out reinforcement works in the first place at the Station Viaduct, which connects Yenişehir-Bağlar districts, has an important place in terms of the transportation axis of the city and which was built a long time ago. Within the scope of Station Strengthening and Repair of Various Bridges, 7 columns located on 14 axes of the viaduct were strengthened. In the works, 60 tons of reinforcement were completed with 300 m³ high strength concrete and 4000 pieces of Q 26 ore with epoxy application.
Sidewalks are widened
The Metropolitan Municipality, which repaired the worn column and beam heads with 350 m² repair mortar, painted all the productions under the viaduct after the plastering process. For the safety of pedestrian and vehicle traffic, the teams replaced with 675 m wrought railing and installed the 450 m guardrail fabrication on the bridge. The Department of Science Affairs, which renewed the worn dilantation joints with 156 meters of elostomer joint, used 675 square meters of basalt stone in the works by widening the pavements for pedestrians to use the viaduct more easily.
New lighting system gave an aesthetic appearance to the viaduct
After the reinforcement works, the Metropolitan Municipality has erected 19 Type Test approved lighting poles with Led Luminaire in order to make the Station Viaduct look more aesthetically pleasing and harmonize with the street it is connected to. After the completed retrofitting and renovation (landscape) works, the viaduct was opened to the service of citizens by vehicle.
