Palandöken and Konaklı ski centers, which are visited by thousands of local and foreign tourists every year during the winter months, make a name for themselves with their track lengths, snow quality and night skiing.

Gendarmerie teams come to the rescue of those who are lost or stuck in the ski center from time to time.

They Provide 24 Hour Security

JAK and public order teams affiliated to the Provincial Gendarmerie Command stationed in Palandöken and Konaklı Ski Center to intervene in such incidents provide 24-hour security on the tracks with patrols.

The teams consist of skilled skiers who speak foreign languages, as well as military personnel with all kinds of knowledge and equipment in search and rescue.

After receiving the notification about the missing or injured people while skiing, the teams equipped with the equipment that can reach this person in 10 to 15 minutes at the latest, wait in a ready state on a 24-hour basis with the snow motor and tracked snow vehicle (UTV) and respond to the events immediately.

The first responders ensure that the injured are safely transferred to the 112 Emergency Service teams and then to hospitals.

Nearly 50 incidents are intervened

While JAK and JÖAK intervene in approximately 50 incidents every day, skiers frequently warn skiers to comply with social distance and wear masks due to the pandemic.

JAK teams periodically conduct exercises to rescue those who are stuck in avalanches and ropeways.
