The team of experts affiliated to the World Health Organization (WHO) visited the Wuhan Institute of Virology on February 3. Many experts stated that the facilities of the institute-affiliated laboratory are excellent, its management is tight, and the conspiracy theory that the new coronavirus leaked from the laboratory in Wuhan is not based on facts.
While interviewing British zoologist Peter Daszak, a member of the expert team, the CNN reporter asked whether it was possible for the virus to have been produced and leaked in the Wuhan laboratory.
Peter Daszak replied very clearly, "There is no evidence of this."
According to the news in Sputnik, WHO expert Vladimir Dedkov from the St. Petersburg Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology stated that the Wuhan Virology Institute's laboratory is well equipped and it will be very difficult for a leak to occur from there.
Vladimir Dedkov said, "I don't know who criticized them."
According to the report, the laboratory in question is the BSL-4 laboratory, which is the highest level of security in China.
In an interview with CNN, Peter Daszak said, “I know this laboratory very well. It is a very good virology laboratory. He's very good at researching what will be the next SARS-related coronavirus. Unfortunately, some people blame him for the fact that the relevant research is very close to the facts of the virus. This is very ironic ”he said.
