Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality has restored the Field Ball, which has adorned the bastions of the Kayseri Castle since 1944 and used as an iftar ball during Ramadan for many years, with conservation efforts. The historical Field Cannon has begun to be exhibited in the Kayseri High School National Struggle Museum in its new form. It was subjected to conservation work on the instructions of Memduh Büyükkılıç. The historical Field Cannon, which has been worn and corroded for years due to outdoor weather conditions, has been completely renewed, preserving the original.
CONSERVATION WORKS COMPLETED IN 2 MONTHS
A special study was carried out for the Field Cannon, which is registered in the inventory of the Metropolitan Municipality. The Field Ball, which was taken from the place where it was exhibited on 26 November 2020 by expert teams, was maintained in 2 months and was brought to the Kayseri High School National Struggle Museum on January 26, 2021. Memduh Büyükkılıç stated that the conservation work required for the Field Cannon, which has been in the municipal inventory since 1944 and has a great moral value for the people of Kayseri, was carried out by expert teams in a period of 2 months without deteriorating its natural state and the new version of Kayseri High School of National Struggle. Stating that it has started to be exhibited again in the garden of the museum, he thanked everyone who contributed.
