Family, Labor and Social Services Ministry under the leadership of prepared Turkey's Engineer Girl by providing more involvement of women in the engineering field with the project to invest in the future of the country, is aimed at contributing to the economic and social empowerment.
The Ministry, the Ministry of Education, United Nations Development Program Office in Turkey (UNDP) and Limak Foundation as a high school and college programs with activities conducted 5 years of cooperation so far covered two feet moving projects 24 thousand 720 students were reached parents and teachers. 102 students benefiting from the project graduated from engineering departments of universities, while 71 of the graduates were employed in various companies.
The Project Has Been Extended One More Year
The Ministry and project stakeholders decided to extend the project, which is expected to be completed by the end of 2020, until 31 December 2021, based on the positive results achieved. In this context, studies were initiated for the university program of the project.
In URAP outlining the academic performance of universities (University Ranking by Academic Performance) 2019-2020 entered the world ranking list from the field Turkey in the field of engineering based on the evaluation of 20 state quota was opened for students at the university. Student selection for the new academic year has also been completed.
Within the scope of the project, a total of 1769 applications were received through my e-scholarship, 647 students meeting the specified criteria were evaluated and one-to-one interviews were held with 160 online. For the 2020-2021 period, 49 students were eligible to benefit from the project.
Scholarship During Education, Employment Opportunity When Graduated
130 engineering faculty students benefit from the university program of the project. Along with scholarship opportunities, students are provided with internship and employment, English language training, "social engineering" certificate program trainings, mentorship and coaching support for seniors. Graduated students can find the opportunity to be employed in different organizations in the sector with the project partner company.
High School Girls' Interest in Engineering Increased
Turkey's Daughters Project Engineer feet high in the designated provinces and teachers in the schools, parents and students informed with various activities related to the engineering profession. In this way, it is aimed to make students feel close to engineering and to make engineering one of their more choices in their career choices.
In the monitoring and impact report results of the project for the 2019-2020 academic year, teachers stated that female students' growing interest in engineering was formed.
