Work on the new Menderes Bridge, which Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Osman Zolan and Sarayköy Mayor Ahmet Necati Özbaş promised to the people of the district, started.
The General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works initiated the demolition work for the bridge built on the Menderes River for more than 100 years, providing transportation between Sarayköy and Buldan districts.
Mayor Özbaş, Metropolitan Municipality Council member Mustafa Horzum, Deputy Mayor Mestan Özkan and Köprübaşı Neighborhood Muhtar Yusuf Tatlı examined the demolition work of the bridge.
It was stated that the demolition works of the veteran bridge, which vehicles have passed over for many years, will be completed by the end of the month.

Stating that the Menderes Bridge has witnessed history, Mayor Özbaş said, “This bridge was built nearly 100 years ago. Over time, our state and our institutions have brought this bridge to its final form. In our childhood, we would reach İzmir via the Menderes Bridge before the other road was built. Now, we are facing a bridge that has expired. We had a promise to our citizens in the 2019 local elections with our Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Osman Zolan regarding the renewal of the bridge. Fortunately, it was our chance to see today, when we put our promise into practice. IT WILL BE A MODERN BRIDGE
Stating that the Menderes Bridge is connected to 5 neighborhoods, Mayor Özbaş said, “Besides our Köprübaşı, Sazak, Tosunlar, Ahmetli and Tepeköy districts, Buldan and Güney districts and Manisa city are connected with our district and our city. Our new bridge will be 86 meters long and 12 meters wide. The 1,5 meter wide pedestrian road and vehicle traffic will continue in a double lane on the right and left of the bridge. Our Menderes Bridge, which will be built in a modern way, will cost 6 million 800 thousand liras. Our bridge will be completed in 3 or 4 months with the fast work of our contractor company. I hope this bridge will be put into use as soon as possible. "We are very pleased that this project was realized with state resources, as many projects we promised were realized."

Stating that he was happy with the construction of the bridge, Metropolitan Municipality Council Member Mustafa Horzum said, “This bridge has been closing from time to time because it has been dangerous for years. It is being renewed with the efforts of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, our government, our AK Party Denizli Deputies, our Metropolitan Mayor Osman Zolan and our Sarayköy Mayor Ahmet Necati Özbaş. A new bridge was needed for many years. A new modern bridge is now being built. We are very happy. This bridge is the artery of Sarayköy. Köprübaşı Neighborhood Headmaster Yusuf Tatlı said, “Our bridge in our neighborhood is a bridge that has witnessed history. It has served our district people for years. A new bridge was needed because of its wear and tear in recent years. We would like to thank everyone who contributed to the construction of this bridge. How much bread and water are needed for us; This bridge was also needed for this citizen ”.
