Boğaziçi University Computer Engineering Department students stand out with their achievements from national programming competitions.

IEEE Turkey organized by the Student Affairs Division Algorithm Competition in all preparatory classes with students; The TRIE team of Boğaziçi University Computer Engineering Department students Mesut Melih Akpınar, Halil Utku Çelik, İsmail Tarık Erkan, Atakan Yaşar and Tarık Can Özden from the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering won the first place. The first prize in the National Online Programming Competition organized by inzva, which focuses on artificial intelligence and algorithm studies, was once again awarded to Boğaziçi residents. Three teams from Boğaziçili, who participated in the competition, took place in the top four among 14 teams from 42 universities.

They came first as the only preparatory students in the competition

Engineering, computing and technology, which is open to professional and supporting technological innovation for the benefit of mankind as a global community IEEE Turkey Student Affairs Division who participated in the contest organized by Bogazici University Prep students Massoud Melih Akpinar, Tarik Erkan, Atakan, Yasar, Halil Utku Steel and Tarik Can Ozden brought the grand prize to Boğaziçi University as the only preparatory year students in the competition.

Mesut Melih Akpınar, one of the team that came first in the competition, in which 33 teams from 65 universities participated, stated that they were the first team to answer the eight questions correctly and they were the first team with the maximum score. Four of us have a national medal in computing, and one in math. In addition, one of our team members has an international medal in one of the most prestigious competitions, International Olympiad in Informatics. Few of us have been interested in programming since high school, and some even since pre-high school. Students who participate in competitive programming activities improve their ability to find solutions to the problems they encounter. In this way, it creates a very good foundation for those who want to study algorithms and work in other fields. ''

Boğaziçi residents made their mark on the National Online Programming Competition

The Binary Hoşaf Tree team, consisting of Boğaziçi University Computer Engineering students Kayacan Vesek, Cahid Enes Keleş and Atakan Yaşar, came first in the Online Programming Competition organized by inzva, a non-profit community that focuses on artificial intelligence and algorithm studies. In the competition, cpu_goes_brrrr formed by Yasin Kaya, Murat Ekici and Ekrem Bal from Boğaziçi won the third place, while the Kod Yazmalım team consisting of Eren Altunoğlu, Harun Sami Çelik and Yunus Emre İnci came fourth among 15 teams from 39 universities.

Kayacan Vesek, a member of the Boğaziçi team, who works in the fields of algorithm programming, autonomous vehicles and deep learning, and a 4th year Computer Engineering student, said that 14 teams from 42 different universities competed fiercely. He said that they tried to solve 11 different programming problems in a limited time of five hours, without error and quickly. Vesek, stating that participated in since the coding competition from high school, '' as best I can, especially to young people in high school, I try to help on how to learn the coding of algorithms areas in the future, I aim to establish algorithm learning platform for students in Turkey, '' he said.
