İBB Silivri is Renewing Müjdat Gürsü Stadium

IMM completely renovates Müjdat Gürsü Stadium in Silivri. In the facility where ground works have been completed, the existing 2 thousand 500-seat tribune is modernized, while an additional 700-person spectator area is being built. The works at the stadium, which will serve amateur and professional sports clubs in the region, are planned to be completed in April.

While Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) is implementing new sports facility projects, it continues its renovation works initiated in order to use the existing sports facilities more effectively and efficiently. The stadium, named after the football player Müjdat Gürsü, who died in a traffic accident in 1994, became a sports facility that was included in the extensive maintenance and repair works.

ALL INFRASTRUCTURE HAS BEEN RENEWED

Within the scope of the works initiated in June by the IMM Facilities Maintenance and Repair Directorate under the coordination of the IMM Directorate of Youth and Sports, the infrastructure of the stadium was first renewed. In the stadium where the drainage and sewerage works were completed, the worn grass ground was removed and the underground was completely made from the beginning. In the facility where the new lawn spreading and irrigation system was installed, the works to cover the existing 2 thousand 800-person tribune were started.

A NEW TRIBUNE IS MADE

A new tribune for 700 people is being built at the İBB Müjdat Gürsü Stadium, together with maintenance and repair works. The new tribune, which is 85 percent completed, will also be covered. By increasing its capacity, the stadium will reach 4 thousand 500 spectators and host more athletes. All old seats will be renewed. Maintenance work will be carried out in all areas under the existing tribune. Landscaping will also be carried out within the scope of the works in which the press and sound room will be physically and technically renewed.

RUNNING AND WALKING TRACK

A 60-lane tartan track will be created for athletics runs and walking around the 105 × 5 meter field in the facility. The 100-meter running track will be at the service of athletes and citizens in accordance with the standards on the track where the ground works have been completed to a great extent.

WE WILL HOST TRAINING AND COMPETITIONS

When the renovation, maintenance and repair works of the IMM Silivri Müjdat Gürsü Stadium are completed, it will be put into the service of amateur and professional football clubs in the region. The stadium, which is planned to be operated by the IMM affiliate SPOR ISTANBUL, will be a training center for the clubs and will host the competitions. The work in the stadium is planned to be completed in April.
