The renewed logo of HEAŞ for its 20th anniversary was announced to the public at a ceremony held at the HEAŞ General Directorate campus.
The ceremony was attended by Presidency Defense Industry President Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir, Sabiha Gökçen Airport Civil Administration Supervisor Necip Çakmak, HEAŞ Board Chairman Serdar Demirel, HEAŞ General Manager Hüseyin Sağlam, Sabiha Gökçen Airport Operator (OHS) CEO Ersel Göral, THY General Director Bilal Ekşi, Pegasus Airlines General Manager Mehmet Tevfik Nane and many HEAŞ personnel attended.
Speaking at the ceremony, Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir said that Sabiha Gökçen International Airport was an important part of the Advanced Technology Industrial Park and Airport Project (ITEP), previously created by the Defense Industry Directorate with a great vision.

History and Establishment Information of HEAŞ
Sabiha Gökçen Airport was realized as the first phase of the 6 main elements of the Technopolis, which will be developed as a "Center of Excellence" within the scope of the "Advanced Technology Industrial Park and Airport Project (ITEP)" prepared by the Defense Industry Directorate.
By the decision of the Defense Industry Executive Committee in 1987; It was decided to establish an "Advanced Technology Industrial Park and Civil Aviation Center (ITEP)" in Pendik Kurtköy. As the first step of the ITEP Project; Sabiha Gökçen Airport, with an annual capacity of 3 million international passengers, 500.000 domestic passengers and 90 tons of cargo, was established on the Anatolian side of Istanbul.
Sabiha Gökçen Airport, whose entire income will be used in projects aimed at developing the technological infrastructure of the defense industry of our country and thus meeting the needs of the Turkish Armed Forces, has been decided to be operated by a public capital-dominated joint stock company to operate in accordance with the provisions of the Turkish Commercial Code. With the capital share of 27% of the Directorate of Industry, Airport Management and Aviation Industry Inc. (HEAŞ) started to operate.
