"1 KILO OF WASTE A DAY"
Donmez said that there should be a nutrition system where the consumption of local foods is ensured and underlined that in this sense, it is extremely important to reduce food waste.
Dönmez said, “A person takes out about 1 kilogram of garbage a day. Half of this garbage is organic waste. If we take the scale as Istanbul, we can say that approximately 10 thousand tons of waste is generated per day. " said.
"YOU NEED TO RECOVER AS ENERGY"
Stating that it is necessary to recycle food waste as electrical and thermal energy and that the most important system of this will be biogas, Dönmez said, “We implemented Artaş kitchen waste disposal system in 2014. Our R&D department worked long before the zero waste regulation was issued. " said.
He said that with this system, not only food wastes before cooking, but also wastes after cooking are converted into biogas.
"LOCAL SOLUTIONS SHOULD BE PRODUCED"
Dönmez emphasized that they use biogas later in heating and stove making activities.
Speaking at Industry Radio, Evren Dindiren Dönmez stated that the wastes generated by countries' diets are also different, adding that local solutions and practices should be studied.
