Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality shoots a scalpel on the traffic problems in the Organized Industrial Zone. The 100-lane alternative road, which will provide comfortable transportation for 4 thousand people, will be completed in a short period of 4 months.
Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality will put an end to the traffic congestion on the way to the Organized Industrial Zone for years; It started the construction works of the 3 thousand 100 meters long, 20 meters wide double round-trip road with a total of 4 lanes, with its own labor and own resources. The road that is aimed to be completed in a short period of about 4 months; Gaziosmanpaşa Neighborhood, Yakup Şevki Paşa Street and the train scissors next to the Cotton Weaving Factory will eliminate the traffic congestion.
THE DREAMS OF THE YEARS COME REAL
The number of employees in the Industrial Zone, which was around 2015 thousand in 5, reached 2021 thousand 12 in 800. Due to the increasing investment in OIZ and the need for employees, the number of employees is expected to reach around 4 thousand in a short period of 15 months. Due to the development of factories and the increase in the number of employment, the congestion in the private and service vehicle traffic of Yakup Şevki Paşa Street, which is the busiest between the city center and the OIZ, created major problems. Metropolitan Mayor Yücel Yılmaz prepared the projects of the road as soon as he took office in 2019 to solve the road problem, which has become very important for the city and the OIZ. Following the consultation meetings held with OSB Chairman of the Board of Directors Governor Hasan Şıldak, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors Hüseyin Bekki, Board Member Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Yücel Yılmaz, other members of the board of directors and the members of the enterprising committee, the construction works of the road started.
20-lane road with a width of 4 meters
The 3 thousand 100-meter road starting from the Weaving Junction; A total of 20 lanes, 4 meters wide with double round trips, will pass through the rear of Atatürk City Hospital, Limak Cement, Maintenance School and Training Center Command and be connected to the OIZ through Kesirven road. Balıkesir Transportation Coordination Center (UKOME) will declare the road as a service road and relieve the private vehicle traffic in Yakup Şevki Paşa Street. As trucks and trucks use the western ring road, the traffic concentrated in the OIZ will be minimized.
THE NEW WAY WILL BE CARRYING 100 THOUSAND PEOPLE
After the completion of the 1st stage in the Organized Industrial Zone, the expropriation of the 2nd stage was also completed. With the start of the 2nd stage to be filled, the expansion areas of the 10rd and 3th stages will be completed within 4 years. When it is completed in 4 stages, there will be approximately 100 thousand employees in the OIZ. Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality has undertaken a road study that will carry 100 thousand people in order to increase employment and prevent vehicle traffic from being locked in the OIZ.
