In the automotive sector, where zero vehicle production has stopped due to the coronavirus epidemic, it is predicted that the supply problem will decrease in 2021, and consumers are waiting for different alternatives in the market. Although used cars, which have become popular with the price increases in 2020, will lose their popularity according to some, ASF Automotive Board Member Fırat Fidan will remain popular. Fidan said, “This year, consumers will be able to reach the desired brand and product much more easily as the availability of both domestic and imported vehicles will be at a better level. At this point, it is time to buy more affordable domestic production vehicles and second-hand cars. " said.
The cessation of zero vehicle production due to the epidemic disrupted the supply-demand balance of the sector. Although this imbalance puts a hard brake on the automotive industry, industry players are hopeful for 2021, when zero vehicle production is expected to increase and the supply problem to decrease. Fırat Fidan, Member of Board of Directors of ASF Automotive, said: “In 2020, the automobile and light commercial vehicle market sold 772 units, and we have a parallel sales forecast this year. Due to the pandemic, there were supply problems in automobile and spare parts around the world last year. "As the availability of both domestic and imported vehicles will be better this year, consumers will be able to reach the desired brand and product much more easily."
Reminding that as of the last quarter of October, there was a 2 percent decrease in prices in about 15 months with the increase in supply in the second-hand vehicle market, Fidan said, “It is a very good time to buy second-hand cars due to the decrease in the purchasing cost of the customers”.
