Kömürhan Bridge and Connection Tunnel, which has been implemented by Turkish engineers and workers using completely domestic and national resources, and will meet the transportation needs of Elazig and Malatya, will be opened tomorrow with the participation of Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Adil Karaismailoğlu.
Adil Karaismailoğlu, the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, entered 2021 with the highways teams working on Bolu Mountain, one of the important transit routes of the Anatolian Motorway. Karaismailoğlu, who visited the Bolu Mountain Maintenance and Operation Chief of the General Directorate of Highways in Cankurtaran, sohbet congratulated the new year of his staff. Karaismailoğlu, who also made an examination in the control room of the Bolu Mountain Tunnel, received information from the authorities about the road situation and the work for 2020.

Minister Karaismailoğlu stated that they will be together with projects that increase the quality of life of citizens in 2021, and that they will open the Kömürhan Bridge and tunnels between Malatya and Elazığ on Saturday and realize the first opening of the new year. Pointing out that the projects will continue increasingly in the new year, Minister Karaismailoğlu said, “Kömürhan Bridge is one of the most featured and biggest projects in the world. Indeed, it is a very valuable project both in terms of engineering and visual. We will bring many projects like this to our country. We put them all in line. We finish one by one and earn our citizens. We plan new projects and new needs. I hope 2021 will be a much more comfortable year in which we do not have these diseases and epidemics, and we do big projects faster, ”he said.
Kömürhan Bridge and Tunnels
Kömürhan Bridge Project includes the construction of the road with a double-tube tunnel with 4.820 vehicle passages and a bridge connection tunnel with 4 crossings with a total length of 4 m. The "Kömürhan Bridge Connection Tunnel and Road" Project, which is ranked 4th in the world ranking in terms of its middle span in the single-pylon category and will become a crossing point for 16 provinces of Eastern Anatolia when its construction is completed, has an important place in logistics. With the completion of this "special technological bridge" class, the route between Malatya and Elazığ will be shortened significantly.
