TAV Airports will start working with Uzbekistan's Ministry of Innovation to cooperate in the capital city of Tashkent and other airport projects in the country.

Turkey is the world's leading brand in airport operations, TAV Airports continues to work to grow in Central Asia. TAV signed a goodwill agreement to cooperate for the renovation of the airports in Uzbekistan in accordance with international standards and the latest technological developments.

At the ceremony held in the capital Tashkent, Uzbekistan Deputy Minister of Innovation Oybek Narinbayev and TAV Airports Chief Executive Officer Sani Sener signed the agreement.

TAV Airports Chief Executive Officer Sani Şener said, “We are pleased to be collaborating for the Tashkent Airport project in the capital of Uzbekistan and the development of other airports in the country. We want to grow in Central Asia, where we entered by purchasing Kazakhstan's Almaty Airport, and take place at the important stops of the modern Silk Road between China and Europe. "We will work for the development and modernization of other airports of Tashkent and Uzbekistan, the adaptation of new technologies to airports, and training of airport human resources, with the knowledge we have acquired in 15 airports we operate in eight countries."

Tashkent Airport, the main hub of Uzbekistan Airways, is the busiest airport in the country in terms of passenger traffic and the third airport in the Central Asian region. Turkish Airlines and Uzbekistan Airways have regular flights between Istanbul and Tashkent.
