Media monitoring agency Ajans Press examined the numbers of news reflected in the press about traffic accidents. According to the information compiled from Ajans Press digital press archive, it was determined that 2019 thousand 22 news related to traffic accidents were reflected in the press in 89. This figure was recorded as 2020 in 15. Thus, it was observed that even the number of news related to traffic accidents decreased. The rules, the measures taken and the pandemic, as well as the closure of the public to the house, drew attention as the primary factor in the decline in accidents.
According to the information obtained by Ajans Press from the Ministry of Interior data, there was a decrease in many categories of traffic statistics for 2020. Thus, it was recorded that fatal traffic accidents decreased by 2019 percent compared to 9, amounting to 903. While the loss of life at the scene decreased by 13 percent to 2 thousand 197, the number of people injured was recorded as 20 thousand 228 with a 566 percent decrease. Looking at the number of injured traffic accidents, it was found to be 14 thousand 148 with a 102 percent decrease.
