Vat Enerji General Manager Altuğ Karataş made a statement in the program "Use Efficiently for Our Tomorrow", which was broadcasted exclusively for Energy Efficiency week on NTV.

Vat Energy General Manager Altuğ Karataş made a statement in the program "Use Efficiently for Our Tomorrow", which was specially broadcast for Energy Efficiency week on NTV. Karataş, saying "Our life source is water", explained the following details about efficiency. “We consume very high amounts of water in homes. In particular, we make 60 percent of our total consumption in toilets, bathrooms and kitchens. At this point, we recommend the users to use water reducing equipment, which we call aerators, which will provide 50% less water consumption, especially attached to the taps. For example, when you replace your shower head with a different head that will save you money, you can reduce your normal water consumption by 50 percent. " said.

"EVERY SAVING IS NOT ENERGY EFFICIENCY"

Karataş pointed out that after every energy efficiency work carried out, users will save money, and stated that not every saving is energy efficiency. He explained this issue with an example as follows: “Turning off one of the two lighting fixtures used is saving. But if you provide the light intensity there with less energy, this is energy efficiency. At this point, it is of great importance for the white goods we use in our homes. Instead of using 15-year-old white goods, you can save an average of 400 TL per year in refrigerators and 200 TL in dishwashers and washing machines by using highly efficient white goods. You can save money on electricity bills even when you prefer 70 degrees instead of 50 degrees in washing options. Because white goods use electricity mostly to heat water. " said.

"IF THERE IS NO INSULATION, HALF OF THE INVOICE GOES WASTED"

Giving information about the importance of insulation in buildings, Karataş shared important tips on reducing natural gas bills: “When there is no insulation in buildings, half of the natural gas bill you spend is wasted. You have the opportunity to reduce the 500 TL bill you have spent for a house to 250 TL if you insulate. Another mistake we make about heating the house is to cover the heating equipment with furniture. By opening the way for honeycombs, we can ensure that the heat spreads throughout the house. In addition, when we put thermal insulation material behind the honeycombs, we can help the honeycomb emit most of its heat inside the house, ”he said.
