A cooperation protocol was signed between the Ministry of National Education and the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office in order to expand intellectual property studies in science high schools. Deputy Minister of National Education Özer announced that with this cooperation, trainings will be organized for the managers and teachers of all science high schools in 81 provinces, and intellectual property study rooms will be established in science high schools.

The Ministry of National Education, which focuses on the subject of intellectual property in vocational and technical education and focuses on patent, utility model, design, brand production and registration studies in this context, received 188 product registrations last year, and set 250 product registration targets for this year.

This year, it was decided to expand intellectual property studies in science high schools, and cooperation was made with the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office.

In this context, Secondary Education General Manager Cengiz Mete and Turkish Patent and Trademark Office President Prof. Dr. "Education Cooperation Protocol" was signed between Habip Asan.

Evaluating the protocol, Deputy Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer stated that a significant progress has been made in the field of intellectual property in vocational education in one year. Özer noted the following:

“With the cooperation we made with our Presidency of Turkish Patent and Trademark Office, we provided training to our administrators and teachers in 81 provinces on intellectual property processes. We established an intellectual property office within the Ministry to coordinate the work carried out in 81 provinces and to provide the necessary support. We had set 100 patents, utility models, designs and trademarks as a target. We exceeded this target and reached 188 registrations. The evaluation phase of many applications is still ongoing. "

Deputy Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer emphasized that they wanted to spread intellectual property awareness in secondary education institutions.

Expressing that they have taken an important step in the field of intellectual property in science high schools after the progress achieved in vocational education, Özer said, “With this cooperation, trainings will be organized for the managers and teachers of all science high schools in 81 provinces. In addition, we will create study rooms for intellectual property studies in our science high schools. In 2021, we aim to have each science high school register at least one product. " used the expressions.

Cengiz Mete, General Manager of Secondary Education, stated that they have taken an important step in intellectual property with this cooperation in science high schools established to raise qualified individuals needed in the field of science and mathematics in the country and to contribute consciously to the economic and cultural development of the society.
