Science Center Tram Station Overpass in Seka Park Put Into Service

Marmara Municipalities Union and Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Assoc. Dr. Tahir Büyükakın conducted an examination at the Science Center Tram Station Overpass, which is the first of three overpasses that will provide the connection between Seka Park and the city. The overpass, which is 87,5 meters long and built for approximately 4 million TL, includes two elevators for the use of disabled and pedestrians over 65 years of age. President Büyükakın, who is also closely interested in parking areas, said, “We completed the overpass here in a short time by taking advantage of the conditions brought by the pandemic period. "We are building two of our bridges similar to this bridge that has started to serve in the Congress Center and schools area."

Mayor Büyükakın said, "This overpass will provide great convenience for our citizens who will get on and off from the western terminal" Drawing attention to the tram stop right next to the bridge, he said: “The tram stop is essentially an important transportation point to reach the Seka Park cultural area, Science Center, Paper Museum, social areas and the beach. It was supposed to be easy access to the beach from here. The first function of this bridge, which is opened to use, will be this access. Our citizens, who get off quickly from the tram station, will have the opportunity to cross the bridge directly. "

Stating that there are two elevators in the overpass, Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Assoc. Dr. Tahir Büyükakın said, “It will make life easier for our disabled, dear elders and citizens who feel the necessity to use the elevator. Seka Park is an area where our citizens show great interest. This interest was causing parking problems in certain periods. Although we increased our parking capacity, it was not enough. Therefore, the Science Center will also contribute to the parking lot areas on the beach of the parking lot in our region ”.
