With the practice implemented by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization last year, the prices of plastic bags, which started to be sold with a fee of 25 cents, will not change in 2021.
While the procedures and principles regarding the pricing of plastic bags were updated on December 22, 2020, in this update, the base fee to be applied on plastic bags in 2021 was determined as 25 kurus per unit including taxes. In addition, in the update, the provision "No less or more fee can be applied" was also included.
Within the scope of the regulation, it was obligatory to use only the zero waste logo and environmental slogans determined by the Ministry on one surface of the paid bags and to offer paper / cardboard content bags as an alternative to the free plastic bags at the sales points to ensure the hygiene of open food.
TRANSITION PROCESS UNTIL JULY
While the transition period was determined until July 1, 2021 for placing the zero waste logo and environmental slogans on paid bags, it was allowed to use the bags that were produced until this date. The use of bags that do not meet these criteria will not be allowed as of January 1, 2022.
