In order to prevent boarding without a card in public transportation, Estram teams continue to inspect all lines. The teams continuing their inspections on all lines, especially the ring lines, were penalized in the last 3 months on the grounds that nearly 1200 people were boarded without a card under the Misdemeanor Law.
Checks are carried out by teams working in double shifts on trams and municipal buses in order to detect illegal boarding on public transportation vehicles. Metropolitan Municipality officials stated that routine checks are frequent, especially on ring lines, during business entry and exit hours, and on market place routes where there is a high density, and that inspections are carried out especially on trams. The officials pointed out that 397 TL penal action was applied to citizens who boarded without a card within the scope of the Law on Misdemeanors, and stated that nearly 3 people were processed in the last 1200 months.
With the Hes Code period that started in public transportation, the officials stated that everyone should use public transportation with their own cards, and that criminal action will be applied to citizens who get into vehicles with someone else's card.
