Sadık Yurtman, President of Eskişehir Environmental Protection and Development Association, made a press statement about the ratifying of the Paris Agreement by the Turkish Grand National Assembly, which was adopted by the UN 5 years ago.

Esçevder President Yurtman; "5 years ago (December 13, 2015) in the history of the United Nations climate talks in Paris, including Turkey, world leaders had agreed to limit global warming to 1,5 C. With this agreement, a new era for the future of the earth would have started.

Unfortunately, this Paris agreement was not approved by the Turkish Grand National Assembly. As Eskişehir Environmental Protection and Development Association, we demand that the Paris agreement be approved by the Turkish Grand National Assembly as soon as possible and that all new coal, oil and gas projects should be stopped and renewable energy sources, which are clean energy resources for everyone, should be opposed to the fossil fuel industry.

Records have been broken on record in average temperature increases for 5 years; The earth is drifting to a point of no return due to greenhouse gases, climate crises make it difficult for thirst, air pollution, warming of the earth, melting of glaciers, proliferation of pandemics, hunger and access to safe food. Despite the fact that fossil fuels are the main perpetrators of climate crises, there is no backtracking for the construction of coal-fired power plants.

We once again cry out to the authorities and concerned that we need to direct our economy and energy policies towards climate-friendly solutions that are at peace with the earth.

By using our renewable energy potential, which is infinite and much more efficient than other countries, we need to revise our energy policy and stop pouring money into fossil fuels that poison our air, water and soil by moving away from fossil fuels as soon as possible.

Turkey Paris Agreement to be part of a global climate regime to sign a moment ago; Eskişehir Environmental Protection and Development Association (ESCEVD is) as we announce to the public in Turkey and the world will benefit the game.
