Dumping Syndrome, which may occur after operations in which part or all of the stomach is removed or after gastric bypass operation, can be defined as a symptom characterized by rapid emptying of the stomach.
Dumping syndrome, which can cause complaints such as abdominal pain, diarrhea, vomiting, palpitations and cramps, usually 10 to 30 minutes after eating, occurs as a result of the uncontrolled discharge of the food in the stomach into the small intestine due to the cancellation of the muscles at the exit of the stomach. This condition develops suddenly and very rapidly and occurs mostly after consuming foods containing sugar.
"Early dumping" if dumping syndrome occurs soon after eating (10 to 30 minutes); If it occurs 2-3 hours after eating, it is classified as "late dumping".
Early Dumping Syndrome: It occurs 15-30 minutes after eating. Symptoms include patient sweating, weakness, palpitations (tachycardia), cramping abdominal pain and dizziness.
Late Dumping Syndrome: It occurs 2-3 hours after eating. It is due to postprandial (reactive) hypoglycemia. It improves when sugar is given to the patient.

In diets, it is generally recommended to eat less and frequently. It is beneficial to consume foods with low glycemic index.
- Meals should be made less frequently
- Food should be consumed in a reduced form
- Carbohydrate should be reduced and more vegetables and fruits should be consumed, but fruits with low sugar should be preferred.
- Liquid should not be taken during the meal. Should be consumed after or before meals
- The food should be eaten warm, not too hot or cold.
