By the end of 2020, China's railway operating distance is expected to reach 146 thousand kilometers, including 38 thousand kilometers of high-speed railways. China National Railway Administration Chief Engineer Yan Hexiang stated at the press conference today held by the State Council Press Office that the construction of high-speed railway with independent intellectual property rights and the equipment manufacturing technology system was established in China.
Expressing that China's standard EMU Fuxing series performs commercial operations at a speed of 350 kilometers per hour, Yan Hexiang stated that smart EMUs have achieved autonomous driving at a speed of 350 kilometers per hour for the first time in the world.
Yan Hexiang stated that China's railway technologies and equipment have been exported to more than 100 countries around the world, and as of November 2020, they have operated more than 32 thousand flights within the scope of China-Europe Train Expeditions. Yan Hexiang stated that they will drive innovation in railway technology during the 14th Five-Year Plan period and organize important and critical technological research and corporate innovation, including a high-speed rail with a speed of 400 kilometers per hour and a high-speed magnetic train system that can reach 600 kilometers.
Pointing out that they will also support the globalization of the railway, Yan Hexiang noted that they will encourage the internationalization of China's railway standards and make Chinese railways a brand.
