China, which has accelerated its work on space in recent years and brought samples from the moon a while ago, is starting the construction of the space base it announced to establish. China's Manned Space Program Chief Designer Zhou Jianping announced yesterday that China will send the main module of the manned space station into space in the first half of 2021.

Chief designer Zhou Jianping stated at the ceremony held for the delivery of the return capsule of the Shenzhou-10 manned spaceship in Shaoshan, Hunan province, the space station's base module will be launched into space by a Long Walk-5B Y2 missile from the Wenchang launchers center in Hainan province.

Zhou said the next space missions will be to send the freight carrier spacecraft Tianzhou-2 and the manned ship Shenzhou-12 into space after the station's base module is placed in orbit. Tests for the basic module have been completed and the training of astronauts continues. These astronauts will perform a number of activities outside of spacecraft.
