Police Officer Semih Doğan from the team that adopted the dog asked the citizens to inform the Metropolitan Municipality Stray Animals Emergency Rescue team when faced with incidents in which stray animals had a traffic accident. Doğan said, “Our request from vehicle drivers is that they should not leave the scene and contact this unit when they are faced with such situations. Stray animals are our dear friends. It is very important that they take them to the nearest veterinarians ”.

A call to own stray animals

Police Officer Soner Sezer stated that many people, especially in holiday regions, leave the cats or dogs on the streets while they are completing their holidays and returning to their homes, which is a very difficult situation for animals. Calling on citizens to adopt stray animals, Sezer said, “When we stay on the street for an hour, we feel cold. Just like us, they get cold when left on the street He gets hungry. They cannot express their feelings. We have to protect them. He spoke. Reminding that stray animals were tortured and killed, Soner Sezer said, “These are really terrible things. Let's not torture animals. Let's protect them ”he said.

With the arrival of the officer, a new one was added to the friends of the police who had previously owned some street animals.

On December 17, a taxi driver ran away from the scene after he hit a puppy on the street in his car in Çiğli district of İzmir. Police Traffic Branch Directorate teams identified this person after the incident and imposed a fine of 13 TL for the crime of "harming the animal" in accordance with Article 392 / ğ of the Metropolitan Municipality Orders and Prohibitions Regulation.
