In the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Council, two important proposals were put on the agenda within the scope of support for the manufacturer and the minibus tradesmen who had a hard time due to the pandemic. If the proposals sent to the commission are accepted in the parliament, feed support will be provided to the sheep and goat producers, and the entrance fee will not be charged until March 1, 2021 from the minibus tradesmen using the terminals of the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality operating in the districts.
The second meeting of the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality December meeting was held at the Ahmed Adnan Saygun Art Center, under the administration of the Deputy Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, Mustafa Özuslu. With the proposal of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer, it was brought to the agenda that the terminal entrance fees should not be collected until 1 March 2021 in order to eliminate the grievances in the public transportation sector within the scope of the measures taken due to the pandemic. The proposal was referred to the Budget Commission. Following the report of the commission, the proposal will be voted in the Assembly. If accepted, minibuses entering 13 terminals of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality operating in 15 districts will not be charged until the specified date.
At the meeting, within the scope of the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality's "Supporting Income Generating Activities in Rural Area" project, an important project that will support sheep and goat breeders in the rural area of Izmir, which has an important potential in terms of sheep and goat breeding, was brought to the agenda. Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, which continues to distribute small ruminants in rural areas in order to popularize sheep and goat breeding, will distribute feed to sheep and goat producers after the decision of the parliament after the vote of the motion in the commissions.
