The high-speed train line connecting Beijing and the Xiong'an New District, known as the "city of the future", was officially put into service yesterday.
The high-speed train line connecting Beijing and the Xiong'an New District, known as the "city of the future", was officially put into service yesterday. The travel time between Xiong'an New District of Hebei province and the capital has been reduced to 2 minutes with the new line to be served by Fuxing type high speed trains. Thanks to the line, the Xiongan New District can be reached in 50 minutes from the newly built Daxing International Airport in Beijing.
The construction of the line, which has a total length of 91 kilometers, took about three years. It is stated that the opening of the line will not only improve the Beijing-Hebei-Tianjin railway network, but also contribute to the closure of the geographical distance between the main cities of the region and the economic development of these cities.
Built as a new economic zone covering Rongcheng, Anxin and Xiongxian counties and some surrounding areas, Xiong'an is located 100 kilometers southwest of the capital. Xiong'an is seen as a model for China's high-grade development and a new engine for its modern economic system.
