Monetary Limits Increased for Applications to Consumer Arbitration Committees

The Communiqué on Increasing the Monetary Limits in Articles 6502 of the Law No. 68 on Consumer Protection and Article 6 of the Regulation on Consumer Arbitration Committees, prepared by the Ministry of Trade, was published in the Official Gazette to enter into force on January 1, 2021.

Accordingly, the mandatory monetary limits for applications to be made to consumer arbitration committees were re-determined according to the revaluation rate of 9,11 percent.

In applications to be made to consumer arbitration committees, district consumer arbitration committees for disputes with a value of less than 7 thousand 550 lira in cities with metropolitan status, provincial consumer arbitration committees in disputes between 7 thousand 550 and 11 thousand 330 liras in cities with metropolitan status, and in the centers of cities that are not metropolitan Provincial consumer arbitration committees will be on duty in disputes with a value below 11 thousand 330 liras in districts.
