Izmir Send His Martyr on His Last Journey

Expert Sergeant Mehmet Onur Özbent, who was martyred as a result of an avalanche in Hakkari, was sent off on his last journey in Izmir in tears.

The body of Specialist Sergeant Mehmet Onur Özbent, who was martyred as a result of an avalanche during the works carried out to open the closed road due to snow in the base area in Hakkari's Şemdinli district, was brought to İzmir. A funeral ceremony was held for 30-year-old Mehmet Onur Özbent at the Yunus Emre Mosque in Torbalı's Ayrancılar District. The ceremony was attended by the martyr's mother Ayten Özbent and her father Mevlüt Özbent, his brothers Ulaş and Barış, as well as İzmir Governor Yavuz Selim Köşger, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor. Tunç Soyer, Aegean Army Commander Lieutenant General Ali Sivri, Air Training Commander Lieutenant General Ziya Kemal Kadıoğlu, Southern Sea Area Commander Rear Admiral Kadir Yıldız, CHP and AK Party İzmir deputies, provincial heads of political parties, Torbalı Mayor İsmail Uygur and many citizens attended.

A funeral prayer was held for Expert Sergeant Mehmet Onur Özbent, the youngest of the three children of the Özbent family. After he was given halal, the funeral of the martyr was buried in Ayrancılar Cemetery in tears.
