Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu, in his presentation at the TBMM Plan and Budget Committee, stated that the new transportation and communication age that started 18 years ago in the country continues with the renewal and transformation process, and said that we increased the flight network from 127 countries to 329 destinations.
Speaking about the investments and developments in aviation, Minister Karaismailoğlu said, “In the ranking of the total number of passengers in our country, world and European Airports; It was ranked 2018th in the world in 2019 and 10. It ranked 2019th among European countries in 5. Our country is very suitable for being the transit center of the world in the field of aviation. We increased the number of countries with which we have an Air Transport Agreement from 2003 in 81 to 173. While in 2003, flights were made to 50 destinations with 60 countries, today we reached 127 destinations in 329 countries ”. Karaismailoğlu also shared the information that the number of UAVs increased to 44 thousand 933 and the number of people with UAV Pilot License increased to 215 thousand 958.
