Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, which continues to work in every field from transportation to the city's infrastructure, economy, agriculture to sports, also protects the rights of its employees. In this context, the collective bargaining agreement covering 40 employees working within BUDO was signed between BURULAŞ, an affiliate of Metropolitan Municipality, and Deniz-İş Union. As a result of the agreement valid for 30 months, an improvement in salaries was achieved as 12 percent for the first year, inflation for the second year, and +6 point welfare share for the first 1 months for the third year.
BUDO is a Bursa brand
Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Alinur Aktaş said that BUDO is very meaningful and valuable for the institution and the city. Stating that BUDO is one of the important alternatives at the transportation point of Bursa to Istanbul, Mayor Aktaş said, “BUDO is one of the issues where a lot of politics has been made over these days. A while ago, we created a serious alternative for our people at the Istanbul transportation point with a 40 percent discount related to BUDO. We received very positive feedback on this subject. Our number of passengers has increased significantly. BUDO is of course now a brand of Bursa. Therefore, we signed the second term collective agreement for our 40 staff working at BUDO and serving Bursa citizens ”.
Hoping that the agreement will be beneficial for both parties, Mayor Aktaş thanked the union managers and employees for their efforts. Mayor Aktaş said, “We had a very troubled and depressed period during the pandemic process. However, our company BURULAŞ has not disrupted its stance on the transportation of the people of Bursa both within the city and to Istanbul by sea and road since the first day. Thank you to all my colleagues for their sacrifice. Good luck to our contract, "he said.
Turkey Seafarers' Union President Irfan Mete, Metropolitan Mayor thanked for the deal Alinur Aktas. Expressing that they are happy to have a collective bargaining agreement with BUDO, Mete said, “During the pandemic, we had a troubled process in our country as well as in the world. In this process, our municipalities had great financial losses. Despite this, I believe we made a good contract. I thank those who contributed. I wish the parties to be beneficial, ”he said.
After the speeches, President Alinur Aktaş, BURULAŞ General Manager Mehmet Kürşat Çapar and Union President İrfan Mete signed the collective bargaining agreement. In memory of the day, President Aktaş was given flowers and a Turkish flag by Mete.
