President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended the "Completion Ceremony of the Modernization of Samsun-Sivas Railway Line" at Samsun Station.

We have completed many works from Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge to Osman Gazi Bridge, from Marmaray to Eurasia Tunnel, from Nissibi Bridge to Ilgaz 3 July İstiklal Tunnel, Ovit, Erkenek, Cankurtaran, Sabuncubeli Tunnel and presented them to the service of our nation. Erdogan stated that in addition to high-speed train lines, they also built high-speed train lines where freight and passenger transportation can be carried out together, and that they managed to establish an uninterrupted railway connection from London to China with strategic projects such as Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway.

Expressing that the 431-kilometer railway line between Samsun and Sivas was renewed within the scope of the project, Erdoğan drew attention to the fact that 42 of the 17 historical bridges were strengthened and all historical bridges were restored.

Erdogan stated that 37 bridges were demolished and rebuilt, and 121 level crossings were secured.

Stating that the existing 12 tunnels have been improved, 19 passenger stops, 30 technical buildings, over a thousand culverts, 1 highway overpass, 6 overpasses and 1 pedestrian underpass have been built, Erdoğan said, “This historic project will have a significant contribution to our region, along with Samsun. With the signalization system, we doubled the line capacity and made the train traffic much safer. Thus, all our citizens living in Samsun-Amasya-Tokat-Sivas provinces have the opportunity to travel more comfortably and safely by rail. " he spoke.

Stating that the railway travel time between Samsun and Sivas, which is still 8 hours and 50 minutes, has decreased to 5 hours and 45 minutes, Erdoğan said, “This railway line, which commercially opens the Black Sea to Anatolia, will give a brand new impetus to logistics transportation in the north-south corridor. Thanks to this line connecting Samsun Port to the Central Anatolia Region, incoming and outgoing loads will be transported much faster. The capacity of this line, which previously carried 2 million tons of cargo per year, increased by 50 percent and reached 3 million tons per year. This investment will strengthen Samsun's position as a regional center and offer many economic and commercial opportunities to our citizens living on the line. " found the assessment.
