Adil Karaismailoğlu, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, was in Kayseri today to attend the groundbreaking ceremonies of the new terminal building of Kayseri Airport and the Anafartalar-YHT Tram line, which will strengthen the power of the transportation network.

Minister Karaismailoğlu said, “We are implementing two giant projects that will strengthen Kayseri's transportation network. In the last 18 years, we have invested over 6 billion 346 million lira for Kayseri's transportation and communication infrastructure. We will introduce Kayseri to high-speed rail, ”he said.

Minister Karaismailoğlu was in Kayseri today for a series of visits. Karaismailoğlu, who first participated in the groundbreaking ceremony of the new terminal building of Kayseri Airport, which will serve 8 million passengers when the project is completed, then attended the groundbreaking ceremony of the Anafartalar-YHT Tram line, where 60 tram vehicles will be produced with a 5% domestic rate.

"We will introduce Kayseri to high speed rail"

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony for the new terminal building of Kayseri Airport, Minister Karaismailoğlu said that they have invested over 18 billion 6 million liras in Kayseri's transportation and communication infrastructure in the last 346 years. Karaismailoğlu said, “Kayseri had only 2003 kilometers of divided road until 83, we increased it to 18 kilometers in 647 years. Currently, our 1,5 different highway projects continue with a cost of approximately 15 billion liras. We are making many investments in the development of Kayseri's railway transportation as well as in highways. We will introduce Kayseri with high speed rail. With the Yerköy-Kayseri High Speed ​​Railway Project, we will build it between Yerköy-Şefaatli-Kayseri with a length of 142 km in connection with the Ankara - Sivas YHT line.

"The new terminal building will serve 8 million passengers a year"

"We will combine and restore the existing international and domestic terminal buildings and transform them into a larger and modern International Terminal building." Karaismailoğlu said that with the completion of the project, Kayseri will serve 250 million passengers per year.

Minister Karaismailoğlu then attended the groundbreaking ceremony of the Anafartalar-City Hospital-YHT Gar Tram Line. Stating that the project cost will be 376 million 493 thousand TL, Karaismailoğlu said, “We aim to complete the project in 2 years. We will lay 14 kilometers of rails along the project route. All works such as excavation of the line, assembly of rails, station fittings, pedestrian crossings and intersection arrangements will be performed in places where daily life continues. Within the scope of the project, we will also supply 60 tram vehicles that will be produced with a 5 percent domestic rate. When our line is completed, we anticipate that the number of passengers carried by existing trams will increase by 50 thousand per day. When the project is completed, a total benefit of 1 billion 452 million TL is predicted ”.
