İzmir Seferihisar Earthquake Current Situation 114 Dead, 1035 Injured and 2.124 Aftershocks

On Friday, 30.10.2020, at 14.51 o'clock, after the 6,6 magnitude earthquake off the Aegean Sea Seferihisar, a total of 4 aftershocks were experienced, 46 aftershocks over 2.124 magnitude.

According to the information received from SAKOM, 114 of our citizens lost their lives. 1.035 of our 999 citizens who were injured were discharged and 36 of our citizens are still being treated.

Search and rescue activities in İzmir have been completed and debris removal works are continuing meticulously.

TEMPORARY HOUSING CENTERS ESTABLISHED

884 to Aşık Veysel Recreation Area, 120 to Ege University campus area, 217 to Bornova Old City Stadium, 196 to Buca Hippodrome, 150 to Buca Stadium, 90 to Sığacık district in Seferihisar district, Bayraklı Bilal Çakırcalı Park 171, Eceler Park 130, Smirnia Square 300, Bayraklı Skate Park 110, 75. Yıl Parkı 57, Tepekule Mah. 50 tents have been installed across İzmir, 435 of which are 2.910 to various points needed. In addition, AFAD and Turkish Red Crescent distributed 19.068 blankets, 11.050 beds, 11.548 sleeping sets, 2.657 kitchen sets and 1.021 heaters.

WORKING GROUPS CONTINUE ITS ACTIVITIES IN THE REGION

Ongoing studies in the region; It is carried out with a total of 8.348 personnel and 1.239 vehicles from AFAD, JAK, NGOs and municipalities.

A total of 942 personnel, 256 from the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization and 1.198 from the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, were assigned for the damage assessment studies in the region.

According to the information provided by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, there is no negative situation in the communication infrastructure.

According to the information obtained from the Coast Guard Command, 26 boats sank after the earthquake, 23 boats and 1 land vehicle were rescued by the Coast Guard Command teams, and 43 boats were stranded. As a result of the work carried out, 26 out of 19 boats that sank were removed from underwater, and 43 of the 40 boats that were stranded were rescued. In addition, 1 motorcycle was provided to be taken from underwater. Rescue efforts of 7 sinking boats and 2 boats stranded continue. Coast Guard Command continues its activities with 186 personnel and 15 coast guard boats.

Within the scope of nutrition service, 427.535 people / meals were provided in the region. In addition, 103.034 hot and cold beverages, 166.575 catering items and 142.199 water were distributed. Works are carried out with 484 personnel and 42 vehicles.

Turkey Disaster Response Plan (TAMPA) covered previously determined İzmir Culture Exhibition area with 11.500 m2 warehouse space in the park, was activated with 150 personnel.

452 personnel from the psychosocial support working group participate in the field work with 38 vehicles and 11.003 people were interviewed. In addition, 4 mobile social service center vehicles were dispatched to the region.

245 personnel including 32 riot police and 277 traffic personnel from the security and traffic working group were directed to the scene. A total of 259 construction equipment and 302 personnel work within the scope of technical support and supply.

112 vehicles and 291 personnel from UMKE and 1.109 Emergency Aid teams were assigned in the region.

A TOTAL OF 29 MILLION TL OF RESOURCES SENT TO THE EARTHQUAKE AREA

13.000.000 TL, Family, Labor and Social Services, by AFAD Presidency to be used in studies. Look. 10.000.000 TL was transferred by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, and 6.000.000 TL was transferred by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization.

ASSISTANCE TO OUR CITIZENS IN DISASTER

The citizens who cannot afford their belongings will be given 30.000 TL material aid per household regarding the demolished buildings. During the earthquake in İzmir, 13.000 TL for the owners of the destroyed, emergency demolished and heavily damaged houses, and 5.000 TL for the tenants who are in this situation will be given move and rent assistance. According to the damage assessment studies carried out in Seferihisar, assistance will be provided by the Governorship according to the damage situation of the tradesmen who were damaged in the coastal area.

According to Turkey Disaster Response Plan, search and rescue, health, in order to run without interruption of support work, the Interior Ministry Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) in coordination with all the working groups, was activated by the 7 day 24 hour operation basis.

TO THE ATTENTION OF OUR CITIZENS!

Damaged buildings in the disaster area should never be entered. Support should be given to infants, children, elderly and disabled people who may need assistance.

Developments and earthquake activity in the region are monitored 7/24 by the Ministry of Interior AFAD.
