AFRAY project and 'Nostalgic Tram' works, which are among the election promises of Afyonkarahisar Mayor Mehmet Zeybek, continue.
TCDD 7th Regional Manager Adem Sivri visited Mayor Mehmet Zeybek and gave information about the latest status of AFRAY and Nostalgic Tram project. President Zeybek held a consultation meeting with Regional Manager Sivri and contractor company officials. In the meeting, the route of the nostalgic tram, which is considered for the transportation of the city, was discussed.
Pointing out that the project works are continuing at full speed, Mayor Zeybek said that they are working with voluntary municipality. Zeybek said, “In the first place, we plan to take it from Ali Çetinkaya Train Station to Ordu Boulevard, Zafer Square, Long Bazaar and Bedesten Bazaar to Ulu Mosque direction. Our aim in this project; In addition to urban passenger transportation, to create a touristic rail system to promote the history and culture of Afyon. Generally, the main purpose of non-profit historical rail systems is to create a historical awareness of how transportation was in the past. We started our study and feasibility studies in this beautiful project. May my Lord succeed, ”he said.
