Republic of Turkey by Russian S400 air defense missiles procured from the system will be tested in Sinop
The images of the supplied S400 air defense missile system components were reflected to the public while being shipped from Samsun to Sinop. It is seen that the missile launch vehicle (TEL), together with the command and control vehicle, are among the shipped S400 components. The radar components of the S400 system and the missile-carrier launchers are also seen in the different images taken on the propulsion route. Sinop airport will be closed to traffic between 6 October 09.00 and 16 October 2020 at 14.30. It is stated that test shots will be conducted within the said period.
The S2020 air defense systems, which were previously stated to be activated in the first quarter of 400 by officials, could not be activated due to COVID-19, but studies were ongoing. In this context, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu made a statement saying that “S-400s are not active yet, but there are activities. S-400 and Supply Process
