The Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Adil Karaismailoğlu, who went to the Malatya Metropolitan Municipality after the visit to the Governorship of Malatya, received a briefing from the Mayor Selahattin Gürkan. Minister Karaismailoğlu made examinations at the Kömürhan Bridge, Tohma Bridge and the Northern Ring Road construction sites in Malatya after the institution visits.

Minister Karaismailoğlu, along with the Governor Aydın Baruş, AK Party deputies Bülent Tüfenkci, Öznur Çalık, Ahmet Çakır, Hakan Kahtalı and the Mayor of the Metropolitan Municipality Selahattin Gürkan and other interested parties, visited the Kömürhan Bridge construction site.

Minister Karaismailoğlu said that after examining the Kömürhan Bridge construction site, they examined the construction site of the Kömürhan Bridge, which is in a strategic position today.

Stating that the 660-meter-long bridge is on the roads connecting Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia regions with Central Anatolia and the Mediterranean, Minister Karaismailoğlu said:

We launched our new projects with the same vision. We created our work plans by bringing together our reform efforts within the framework of our National Transportation and Infrastructure Policy.

Karaismailoğlu stated that there is one 2 thousand 400 meters long double-tube tunnel, one 660 meters stretched inclined cable bridge and one 123 meters long reinforced concrete bridge within the scope of the project, He noted that they have completed the foundation of the bridge and the construction of the 168,5-meter pylon.

Minister Karaismailoğlu, explaining that the bridge composition of the Kömürhan Bridge was realized on September 9, 2020 with the addition of the 25th and the last segment, and that they completed the cable tensioning of the bridge, which was 42 in total, they started superstructure works and said, “Kömürhan Bridge, which will serve the vehicle traffic with 2 × 2 lanes, It was designed as a Y-type tower. It will rank 380th in the world literature due to its single pylon and its middle span of 4 meters. "We will complete the connection roads, bridge and tunnel secondary works of our project in a short time and open it on December 15, 2020".

Minister Karaismailoğlu pointed out that the production of ventilation, lighting and fire systems is progressing at full speed in order to open the 2 meters long double-tube tunnel to traffic by the end of 400, “I hope, with the opening of our tunnel and Kömürhan Bridge, Malatya-Elazığ The road transportation between Turkey will be more convenient, faster and safer. The Euphrates River, which is the subject of folk songs and laments, will no longer be an obstacle for transportation. With the implementation of the project, serious problems encountered in road transportation between Malatya and Elazığ will now be history. " he spoke.

Minister Karaismailoğlu stated that with these investments, very important contributions will be made to the trade of the region, “I hope we will open this bridge to the service of our nation on December 15, 2020 with our brothers from Elazığ and Malatya.
