MEB Provided Guidance Service to Approximately 10 Million Students

By the Ministry of National Education, school guidance services and Guidance and Research Centers have provided guidance and psychological counseling services to 9 million 818 thousand 326 students in group and 108 thousand 855 students individually, in total, 9 million 927 thousand 181 students.

As of March, when the coronavirus epidemic started, the Ministry of National Education focused on guidance and psychological counseling services to support the psychological soundness of students and parents. In this context, individual and group guidance activities were carried out for students, parents and teachers. School Counseling Services and Guidance and Research Centers (RAM) have provided guidance and psychological counseling to 9 million 818 thousand 326 students, including 108 million 855 thousand 9 students in groups and 927 thousand 181 students individually.

Deputy Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer stated that the Ministry has focused on guidance and psychological counseling services for students, parents, teachers and administrators in addition to providing the necessary support to continue education during the epidemic process.

Özer stated that a “Special Education and Guidance Services Information Line” was established in order to provide guidance services to citizens in overcoming the difficulties of this process, and said: “In addition, RAMs in 81 provinces have entered an intensive working process. In this context, we provided support services to approximately 10 million students. Similarly, guidance and psychological counseling services have been provided to 10 million 168 thousand 910 parents and 794 thousand 768 teachers / administrators since March. As a result, guidance and counseling services were provided to a total of 20 million 890 thousand 859 individuals for students, parents and teachers. These services are still continuing.
