At the meeting where international participants were connected online due to the epidemic, President Tunç Soyer, who was also the Vice President of the Cittaslow Union, presented the "Cittaslow Metropol" project and announced that he was a candidate to become the world's first "Cittaslow Metropol".

In the meeting, the idea of starting work for Izmir to undertake the coordination of the "Cittaslow Metropol" project was welcomed.
The draft principles of the concept of "Cittaslow Metropolis" are listed as "community and solidarity", "good governance", "urban eco system", "people-oriented economy", "food for all" and "eco-mobility". Cittaslow network has 30 members from 266 countries. Cittaslow's philosophy is based on cities that protect their identity and create an easier and happier life for their citizens.
